Teachers often wear many hats in the classroom. Beyond lesson delivery, they also check piles of student outputs, monitor student progress, and complete countless administrative tasks.

To help ease these challenges, Filipino innovators are developing technologies designed to make classroom management more efficient.

Here are three (3) DOST TAPI-assisted Filipino education technology (EdTech) startups making teaching easier, helping teachers save more time and support their students better.

Cerebro: An All-in-One Hub for Classroom Management

For many teachers, the day begins with admin work with lesson preparation, attendance checking, and organizing class records.

Cerebro streamlines these tasks through a centralized school management and e-learning platform equipped with a curriculum-aligned content library.

It also features a dedicated Teacher Portal, helping teachers stay organized and reduce time spent on administrative work or switching between multiple learning management systems.

GradeChum: AI-Powered Grading Assistant

Checking student outputs can get tedious and time-consuming, especially for teachers who handle multiple classes in a day.

With GradeChum, teachers can now check quizzes and exams more efficiently. Using optical character recognition and AI, this platform converts handwritten responses into digital text and checks them against answer keys which can be customized by teachers.

GradeChum supports multiple test types such as essays, multiple choice, structured responses, and even mathematical expressions.

PathBuilder: Personalized Learning Pathways

Teachers know that students have different learning styles and different paces, making it even more challenging for them to provide individualized support in large classrooms.

With PathBuilder, teachers can identify students’ learning gaps and recommend appropriate interventions, helping reinforce content or lesson mastery.

Using its four-stage process—Diagnose, Personalize, Intervene, and Verify—the AI-native platform helps teachers tailor specific aspects of academic support according to each learner’s needs and progress.

Filipino EdTech Featured on Global Stages

These three Filipino startups showcased their innovations in international exhibitions. Cerebro and GradeChum participated in the GITEX AI Asia 2026, while PathBuilder joined the London Tech Week 2026.

Further, they represented the Philippine delegation led by the Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST TAPI) under the agency’s Science and Technology Promotion for International Contest and Exhibit (SPICE) Program.

Additionally, they are proponents and grantees of DOST-TAPI programs such as the Grants and Assistance to Leverage Innovations for National Growth (GALING) Program, the Technology Innovation and Commercialization (TECHNiCOM) Program, and the Expanded Venture Financing Program (EVFP).

From simplifying classroom management to personalizing learning, these Filipino edtech startups demonstrate how Filipino innovation can help teachers as well as students thrive.

“PhilippiNOW: Activating Innovations From Within” is a campaign of the Philippines’ Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) with a mission to elevate Filipino innovations onto the world stage by forging global partnerships and driving breakthrough technologies toward commercialization.

The Science and Technology Promotion for International Contest and Exhibit (SPICE) Program of DOST-TAPI supports the participation of DOST-assisted technologies, startups, and research institutions in international exhibitions, invention contests, pitching competitions, and similar global platforms. By facilitating these engagements, SPICE aims to strengthen international linkages, broaden market networks, and accelerate the promotion, transfer, and commercialization of Philippine-developed innovations.

The Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) is one of DOST's service agencies, whose primary responsibility is to promote the commercialization of technologies and market the services of other operating units of the Department. It was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 128 on 30 January 1987.
