As artificial intelligence rapidly becomes the backbone of enterprise systems across Asia, the Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) is bringing Filipino innovations into the global conversation, not as concepts, but as deployable, enterprise-ready solutions.
Through its campaign: “PhilippiNOW Philippines’ New Opportunities Worldwide: Activating Innovations from Within,” and with the program of the Science and Technology Promotion for International Contest and Exhibits (SPICE), DOST-TAPI led the Philippine delegation at GITEX AI Asia 2026, positioning locally developed technologies into one of the region’s most influential platforms for AI, startups, and digital investments.
A Market Signal for Asia’s AI Economy

More than a showcase, the event served as a real-time indicator of where Asia’s AI economy is heading. GITEX AI Asia 2026 convened over 550 global technology enterprises and startups, 250+ investors, and 175+ speakers, reflecting a region that is no longer exploring AI but actively building and deploying it at scale.
Across industries, from cybersecurity and telecommunications to robotics and enterprise systems, the shift was clear; AI is now infrastructure, embedded into operations and business strategy. Companies are no longer asking what AI can do, but how it can be implemented to deliver measurable value.
Singapore’s position further reinforces this trajectory. With regional AI spending projected to reach USD 78 billion by 2026, and Southeast Asia expected to host a significant share of global data center capacity by 2030, the country stands as a strategic hub for capital, compute, and cross-border innovation. Meeting the Demands of Enterprise Tech Adopters

DOST-TAPI’s participation directly responds to the needs of high-level technology decision-makers, while leaders are tasked with identifying scalable, enterprise-ready solutions.
Over and above, the initiative also engages startup founders, research institutions, investors, and government partners, strengthening the broader innovation ecosystem.
Turning Insight into Action
Across the region, organizations face a shared challenge: identifying AI solutions that are reliable, scalable, and ready for integration.
In parallel, innovators face a different constraint: how to move from development to commercialization. This is where DOST-TAPI bridges these realities.
Positioning itself as a mentor and connector, the Institute links innovation supply with industry demand, enabling technologies to transition from their laboratories to live environments, and from prototypes to enterprise applications.
Filipino Innovations Gaining Ground Globally

At GITEX AI Asia, 2026, the Philippine delegation presented a portfolio of AI-driven technologies designed for practical application across industries. These include Collo, an AI-powered property management platform; Farmesto, an IoT-enabled greenhouse automation system; WEHLO, a hyperlocal environmental monitoring solution; GradeChum, an AI-assisted grading platform; Cerebro, an integrated e-learning system; Duon Wayfinding, a real-time indoor navigation tool; and AID-FMM (GreenVisions), an AI-powered farm diagnostics system. These technologies demonstrated strong global competitiveness during the event. Collo secured a place among the Top 50 semi-finalists, while Duon Wayfinding and Cerebro advanced as Top 10 finalists in the Supernova Pitch Competition. Cerebro also received the Expand North Star Special Award, reflecting investor interest and market relevance. Read more here: https://gitexasia.com/gitex-asia-supernova-challenge.
These recognitions signal strong investor interest, market relevance, and scalability, positioning Filipino innovations as viable solutions for enterprise adoption.
Activating Innovation Where It Matters Most
The development at GITEX AI Asia 2026 reflects a broader regional shift: Asia’s AI economy is no longer emerging; it is actively being built, funded, and deployed.
The convergence of enterprises, investors, infrastructure providers, and startups within a single platform highlights a maturing ecosystem where innovation is measured not by ideas, but by execution.

For DOST-TAPI, this moment reinforces its role in ensuring that Filipino technologies are part of that system. Through connecting enterprises with ready-to-deploy solutions and guiding innovators toward commercialization and scale, the Institute supports a more integrated innovation ecosystem, one where Filipino technologies move beyond borders and into real-world applications.
“PhilippiNOW: Activating Innovations From Within” is a campaign of the Philippines’ Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) with a mission to elevate Filipino innovations onto the world stage by forging global partnerships and driving breakthrough technologies toward commercialization.
The Science and Technology Promotion for International Contest and Exhibit (SPICE) Program of DOST-TAPI supports the participation of DOST-assisted technologies, startups, and research institutions in international exhibitions, invention contests, pitching competitions, and similar global platforms. By facilitating these engagements, SPICE aims to strengthen international linkages, broaden market networks, and accelerate the promotion, transfer, and commercialization of Philippine-developed innovations.
The Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) is one of DOST's service agencies, whose primary responsibility is to promote the commercialization of technologies and market the services of other operating units of the Department. It was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 128 on 30 January 1987.
